weekends was awesome

I love weekends, it's something I look forward to during my internship.

Last weekend, I went and spent a night at my gf's place. Slept with her brother and played lotsa PS2 with them on Saturday. Supposed to go out shopping, but ended up we were all too tired and rest at home instead. I went back on Saturday night and gosh...alrite maybe not so awesome, my wall is leaking water from the side! Coming from the bathroom I guess...which took me 2 hours clearing my stuffs underneath my bed as it is all soaking wet...each time someone bathes, the floor turns wet again...Ok so it was the not so awesome part ;P

Yet, Sunday I went out with Poh for his Rite of Acceptance as a cathecumen in my church. It was an honour as it was my first time becoming a sponsor for someone. Poh and me have been roomates for months, and he was touched to be a Catholic after visiting my church only once! Praise God. Currently he's in RCIA, hope his faith stays strong always...

Sunday afternoon was movies with Sheryl. We saw this not-so-really-evil-ghost-story sorta movie call Dorm. It is rather a good-casper-like-ghost-story. Lol. But it was worth it, only scary at the beginning and later on as it unfolds, the ghost is actually a good hearted one and died of an accident...he later met with a boy who became his friend, yup a boy that can actually see him while the rest can't. So the story unfolds where his mystery is reveal and a journey to help the ghost reach his end journey, re-incarnation...

Was really touching, really...I recommend it to everyone, as it has a deep moral value. And can even make you cry...Such a friendship!

Synopsis

“I still remember very well, the first time I left home…”

“I was 12 and studying in 7th grade. In the middle of the semester, I was un-riotously transferred to a new boarding school…the reason…to be away from home…to get away from my father. You might be curious about this, but I am not surprised because it is only me who knows his secret.”

“Being transferred in the middle of a semester is really cruel. I have to get used to new classes and a new dorm that does not feel like home, and the worse part is, the new bed that I'm sleeping on, who knows how many people slept on it before me.”

“I feel really lonely here. I don't really have any friends except one. We like to sneak out and play at the playground behind the school. For years there has been this rumor floating around that there used to be a pool here, where children used to swim during the weekends, but was closed. The rumor is it's because a kid drowned!”

“Do you believe in this old school's tale?”

“I know a secret and if you promise not to tell anyone, I will tell you… “

Weekends was great. Thanks alot Sheryl!

my new avatar

My new avatar in kbox...i'm loving it lol lol

-----

Hope to see my gf today. Missing her like crazy. Life in Intel well, up and down as usual. Today got a bit of a lecture from ching yee, my supervisor on not attending the meeting at 7am today. It's not like I didn't want to, but I'm just an intern coming to make introductions? And at 7am? Even my sis was complaining, is it necessary?

Anyway, will be careful, can see that she was upset about it.

------

Gonna visit my gf's place and maybe sleep over. Gonna be my best weekend ever spending time at her place. Such a nice family to hang out with...how I wish I have one too. I look forward to repay thier kindness with gratitude one day, just owe them so much.

Love ya dear!

Two more projects.

x.X two more projects in queue. Time to complete: 2 weeks

Description:

1. See whether VersionOne software tool is applicable for use in the AD&S team here in cyberjaya, which uses agile and extreme programming in their work. Tool is basically helping them in the planning game rather then the old way of using excel or a whiteboard.

2. Continuous Intergration Tool. Link up with Kanasan's team to study more about this programming .NET tool. Attend every Friday's meeting to join their group meetings.

Complicated stuff. Hope I can do well in this, do pray for me. @_@

Taking consolation from this quote:

Life isn't meant to be easy. It's hard to take being on the top - or on the
bottom. I guess I'm something of a fatalist. You have to have a sense of
history, I think, to survive some of these things... Life is one crisis after
another. Richard M. Nixon

Monday

Monday monday...the usual blues. At my laptop now with sleepy eyes...a tired body. But it was a great weekend getaway with my gf's family at Sg Wang Plaza and Sunway Pyramid.

It seems I spent alot during the weekends. $$$ just slips away... But I guess you don't get anything if you don't give for something. To have a gf means spending more, it's an undeniable fact that requires sacrifice, but in the end if you really love her, it's worth it. Love cannot be bought by money, and indeed it can be used to strengthen it. =)

Still working on my CFS, almost done with it. Wanna try some challenging project up my sleeves. I love challenges, it just fills my life with more meaning than going for something less risky or boring.

One day, I dream to be someone in someplace. Somewhere I really love and commit myself to working.

And for Sheryl, thanks for being there with me, even through tough times. Love you honey.

CFS

a new day, a new challenge. To complete the CFS implementation replacing the older CFS.

Alrite, done with the text formatter earlier yesterday. Here's the complete portion:

(May look simple but it's not, look at the codes then you'll understand why)

Program used: VB.net integrate with access, with mail control function added in

missing someone and akmal's fairwell

miss my gf alot. She seems to be v busy in assign and not even sms-ing each other.

Well maybe I'm just thinking too much. Things are ok I guess.

------------

Today, a day where I gave up on the text formatter application. It won't work it seems, even with the help of two brilliant guys like Waqar and Farhan, the thing just wouldn't work. It's a migration from access to sql, and really isn't as easy as it seems.

I just wanna be over with my internship...had enough.

------------

Looking forward to the weekends...I just love it when it's Friday, back to my own home sweet home apartment. Life's great there.

Photo of today's meal with Azmal, who is leaving tomorrow due to contract expiring. Gonna miss him. (the food there at Kyoko japanese restaurant, Puchong is just great, look at the pics below and you'll know why)

Friends, how one should be

What a friend should be

Sweet words are easy to say,
Sweet things are easy to buy,
but sweet people are difficult to find.

Life ends when U stop dreaming,
Hope ends when U stop believing,
Love ends when U stop caring,
Friendship ends when U stop sharing.

So share this with
whom ever U consider a friend.
To love without condition,
To talk without intention,
To give without reason,
To care without expectation...
is the heart of a true friend.

I find this true. True friends are hard to come by these days.

-------------------------------------

At office as usual. Given a simple programming task today yet seems complicated to me. Sheesh, how noob-ish. I gotta admit I'm noob when it comes to programming. I wanna be a pro! Gimme those programming knowledge and skills dear God!

Darn, I wanna be a hardcore programmer. Please, it's something money can't buy in the IT field. It's better then gold or diamond, seriously. With it your career can bring you anywhere in BIG BIG companies, and I'm talking big, something like Intel, Shell, Dell etc.

Yet, I chose my destiny earlier on, in Business IS. Which was kinda stupid mistake, it's really a noob-ish way of running the fact you NEED programming in IT line, or you're just not IT enough. Such descrimination, sheesh... -.-

Ok for IT dudes out there who are taking IT, you won't regret taking up progrmaming courses or major, like Comp science or Soft Engineering. Just discard the fact that you hate programming and embrace it. Ya I know, ppl say you'll get headaches, cranking up your head solving bugs etc yada yada. But they are just trying to INFLUENCE you. Don't listen. See how successful these people are in Intel, I tell you...I'm damm freaking jealous at them, and I DON'T SEE ANY HEADACHES or displeasure in their work AT ALL. (REASON? they get paid freaking high...I give you some hints, it's always above RM5k after 5 years in intel, maybe more, managers easily get up to 10k)

So don't complain, take the challenging path...it's worth it.

Guys

I find this true, got it from a forwarded email.

How guys xpress their love!!!

When a GUY is quiet and is alone,
He's is thinking how good you're, Miss you!!!

When a GUY is lying on his bed,
He is thinking deeply why he loves you.

When a GUY looks at you in your eyes,
He wants to tell you how much he loves
you and how important you're.

When a GUY answers "I'm Fine" after
awhile,
He is not and feels hurts.

When a GUY keep asking you the same
question,
He is wondering why you are lying.

When a GUY hugs you while sleeping,
He is wishing that you belongs to him
forever.

When a GUY calls you everyday,
He Miss You and wants your attention.

When a GUY wants to see you everyday,
He cares for you and want to know how are you today.

When a GUY sms's u everyday,
He wants you to know he is fine.

When a GUY says I love you,
He really means it.

When a GUY says that he can't live
without you,
He has made up his mind that you are his
future wife.

When a GUY says "I Miss You",
He wants to see you immeditely.

movies

watched Voice, a korean horror movie and also Pirates 2 last weekend.

It was good. I mean Pirates 2. Voice was so-so, was expecting it to be scarrier but ended up more like some story telling which is kinda vague and unclear, in the end the villian is all along herself, hmm why didn't I thought about that.

Pirates 2 focus all on Johnny Depp, somewhat a spectacular actor. He has made the whole series a totally diffrent twist thanks to his skillful and imaginative acting. Girls especially would just flock to the theaters just to see him perform all out...

Thanks sheryl for accompanying me for the movies. =)

Back to work on Monday, futsal day! Glad to release some stress on the first work day.

Intern but is it worth more work? hmm...

Another day at work. but suddenly today, they asked me a few favours, like pair programming with one of the persons in the meeting, not Maisie, but Siew Tin. And later helping out in installing the PC which had some problem...reformatting probably.

And I thought I can rest and surf today...well abit on what my sis told me yesterday:

"Well if they don't give you anything to do, just surf the web, or design that tank game that I gave you. Don't bother, you're just an intern, relax and have fun while you can. And don't ask for more work, coz it's stupid, remember that you are being paid minimal wage."

I'm like =.="...."Ok...now I know..."

Well, but I'm still here to learn, and will learn as much as I can about the corporate life. And so far it's been an eye opener. O.O <---see how big are those eyes

It's true too maybe I'm asking too much. So I'm gonna take it easier this time.

-----

And to sheryl, can't wait to see you again this week. So many plans but so little time. Miss ya lots. Can't wait to hug you the next time.

----

Passion is one of my most favourite words...And here's my favourite quote I found in the net:

Quote: “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful” - Henry David Thoreau

Exactly. Love what you're doing always.

Test, work and living on my own...

Take this test

----

Another boring day at work, I really think my supervisors looked down on me, probably I'm less the technical person that they think I am. I'm not given any task, except to learn at my desk. And it seems hard to learn programming by yourself all alone.

Gee, should have join my other friends who are in Infortech, near Pyramid there. They're having a great time working there and learning alot everyday.

I hate being idle, seriously, it just bores the hell outta me. And I hate ppl who look down on me, who thinks I really don't know how to execute the tasks. Well I'll try my best even scurrying the net for the codes if I really need to.

That's the problem, they expect you to know everything...the day you enter to the work, assigns poured in, and if they think you don't know, they won't even give you. Well maybe I'm wrong, they won't even hire you I guess....I'm an intern here, so what the heck...just do my best to learna dn observe here.

I do hope to come back to intel again, but not right after I graduate, I really wanna pump up my skill sets first. It's a great place to work, but it requires a great set of skills and knowledge too.

----

Sista sista...haih...I do hope she'll change and be a better person someday, seems hard having her to nag me everyday. Till I wanna live on my own someday without relying on her.

Car...that's what I need, the rest can be settled, apartment can be rent...but transport...reli need it. hmm maybe working some place near first...

Future planning, sigh...I am really getting old.

Sacrifice

As I grow older, time seems to become less and less, things that I've loved to do once, slowly seems to slipped away, examples are gaming, creating userbars for people, forumming like everyday without miss, etc.

Now another era of my age is coming, work. Having it taking so much of my time, seems like all those previously liked activities have to be sacrificed. Taken away...Even if I had the chance to do it, it wouldn't be much, or just mediocre of it. I miss college days, where after class, it would be doing those stuff except during the times I'm with assign and exams. Going out with friends, yumcha, sigh. Miss it lots.

Working is one, what's next? Marriage? Kids? Can't imagine. As one grows older, so does his responsibilities grow.

Moral is, enjoy it when you're young, coz, you never get a second chance when it slips away.

Sheryl

Didn't write much on the time I spent with her. Owe her one for insisting on going on a movie on Saturday, when actually I'm not feeling well =P

Ended up resting in her house and all of them cancelling the plan the last minute. But she really took care of me, giving me water and medicine and even a bed to rest.

Thanks so much sweetie. =)

Looking forward to the week ahead, will take good care of myself, promise.

motivated =)

got the bug fixed today. Finally. It just require a reboot after the setup, which means if I did that last friday, things would have went well.

Oh well, sometimes things are just meant to happen. Lighten my mood up alot today =)

Now I can really program with ASP and database SQL... getting my hands all dirty.

*type type type...

demotivated

feeling demotivated. Workin is not that easy, especially when ppl demand a lot from you and others seems busy or too preoccupied to help.

It's like they give u something, and expect you know how to do it.

And now, I have this bug where it seems so hard to fix. Sigh...

Sometimes I wish I can be a student always, such a simple and fun filled life. Working is really very diffrent, and your only time to getaway is the weekend.

Not bad

Days have been good in Intel. The staff are great, friendly etc. Glad to work here, been learning something new everyday.

I guess something more challenging is coming ahead soon. Programming in C# and SQL I guess.

To those taking IT, seriously, consider Software Engineering and Computer Science, the market here is much higher for these two courses. Mine? Business Information Systems is like...hmm..."not that useful" here...

If I would be given a chance to rewind to the time when I'm choosing my major, I would have choose Comp Science(Soft Engineering not offered in Sunway).

Well, there's still Masters I guess.

Man, I love what I'm doing now, I dont fear programming anymore, rather embrace it.

"Fear is the main reason people cant be programmers. A programmer needs courage to do it."

A quote from Agile Manifesto(principles of Agile Programming):

Principles behind the Agile Manifesto

We follow these principles:

Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer
through early and continuous delivery
of valuable software.

Welcome changing requirements, even late in
development. Agile processes harness change for
the customer's competitive advantage.

Deliver working software frequently, from a
couple of weeks to a couple of months, with a
preference to the shorter timescale.

Business people and developers must work
together daily throughout the project.

Build projects around motivated individuals.
Give them the environment and support they need,
and trust them to get the job done.

The most efficient and effective method of
conveying information to and within a development
team is face-to-face conversation.

Working software is the primary measure of progress.

Agile processes promote sustainable development.
The sponsors, developers, and users should be able
to maintain a constant pace indefinitely.

Continuous attention to technical excellence
and good design enhances agility.

Simplicity--the art of maximizing the amount
of work not done--is essential.

The best architectures, requirements, and designs
emerge from self-organizing teams.

At regular intervals, the team reflects on how
to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts
its behavior accordingly

chatao china intel song

The Intel Song : We're a Happy Family!

I don't think I ever heard anything so ridiculous in my life. If my company would make me listen to something like this each morning to "motivate" me, I would either quit my job or end up mad.

Apparently this song is used in Intel’s internal training in China, as well as to boost employees’ morale during daily morning exercises. (Source: tian.cc)

Our operation is satisfaction,
We are sure perfection,
Quality we fair achievement we share,
For the staff Intel cares…

Intel, Intel,
The leading company,
Intel, Intel,
We work in harmony…

We are proud to say we lead all the way,
Technology today…
With a better show to the front we go,
Just watch us as we grow.

Intel, Intel,
The place for you to be,
Intel, Intel,
The happy family…

(source: http://geeksaresexy.blogspot.com/2006/06/intel-song-were-happy-family.html )

Haha got this from a forwarded mail from my colleague. Funny stuff. China's Intel actually takes it for serious. Thank goodness we dont have to do it elsewhere.
